Description

The successful candidate can expect to:

Manage and inspire a technical team focused on delivering valuable features within agile product teams

Provide leadership and be accountable for the performance and effectiveness of the team (Aer Lingus employees and partner resources)

Ensure the optimum support structure is in place to maintain operational excellence

Join collaborative engineering leadership team and contribute to the future engineering direction

Work with the technical expert team members to deliver a sustainable model for development of the PSS service, ensuring an excellent quality of service.

Establish a short, medium and long-term resourcing plan utilising partners and in-house resources

The key objective for this role is leading the team and delivering technical direction and strategy of the area.

To be successful in this you will be required to;

Work with the PSS Development Lead and SME’s to manage delivery of business projects using internal and/or third-party service

Review processes within the PSS Tech team and across EI Tech to ensure they are efficient and are delivering satisfactorily to business units

Foster a culture and environment where team members develop their skills and capabilities to take responsibility for adapting to new challenges

Collaborate with the team to create achievable goals and KPI’s and ensure that these are all understood

Work with the teams to focus on continuous and sustained improvement of all aspects of development along with appropriate metrics to measure this (Dev methodology, Test strategy, release and deployment of features)

Develop talent with a view to promoting, retaining and recruiting a diverse high performing team

 

 

Profile

Bachelor’s Degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science or equivalent formal training

10+ years of software engineering experience

Experience of managing/leading a mature technical team

Strong knowledge of SDLC with experience improving agile practices

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, comfortable to present technical information to a non-technical audience

Ability to lead, mentor & motivate developers to ensure high quality code deliverables & practices

Impeccable written & oral communication skills

Fluent in English, both written and spoken

Eligible to live and work in the EU

Hold a current unrestricted worldwide passport

Able to pass a strict airport security vetting procedure which includes a 5 year background check* or be in possession of a current airside pass for the airport this position is based in
